Giant Bikes come from the Giant Bicycle Company, the largest manufacturer in the world, and what may be surprising for some to learn is that they took their first steps as a bike manufacturer as recently as 1972.
As one of the premier stockists for Giant Bikes in Melbourne, indeed Australia, we have at any one time over a thousand Giant bicycles ready and available for sale.
 
Today, Giant build a staggering 5 million bikes per year which are sold through 10,000 stores in over 50 countries of the world. Not bad for a Taiwanese company not yet 40 years old!
A feature of Giant Bikes is that no matter what your age, gender or riding style, they will have a model that is ideal for your needs. There is a Giant bike for virtually anyone fom kids trikes and BMX bikes through to high end carbon fibre road bikes as ridden by the likes of the Rabobank ProTour cycling team.  

Despite being a relative newcomer to the industry, particulary compared to the long history of some road bike manufacturers, Giant bikes have proven to be a leader in many areas of design and material utilisation. The most noteable design innovation that Giant is responsible for has now been universally accepted as standard practice. The compact frame, (or sloping top tube) was seen by some as too radical when first introduced, but the benefits far outweighed any thoughts of "looking strange" so much so that today it is the horizontal top tube bikes that look different!

Giant were also the first company to wholeheartedly embrace the use of aluminium as a frame material for general use, and at the time Giant bikes were acclaimed as being the lightest bikes made, when they had the famous TCR models ridden by the all conquering  Spanish O.N.C.E. team. This taste of International recognition as a serious high end bike manufacturer, saw Giant increase their range of bikes and begin to investigate what at the time was a material of the future, carbon fibre.The Giant road bike line up today is all carbon and composite frames, as also are the many brands that have followed the Giant lead, but with two main differences.

1/ Giant Bikes produce their own material in house and so have total control over production quality which in part allows their lifetime frame guarantee.

2/ Price. Value for money. Whatever you want to call it, Giant bikes are the undisputed market leader.
