 24" XDS XLite Boys Mountain Bike 

 

Designed to be a lightweight mountain bike the XDS Lite has a lightweight frame with narrower tyres to give less rolling resistance, so the bike is easier to pedal.

It is ideal for a smaller child, or for riding along bike paths and paved surfaces where pushing an off road tyre is just a waste of energy. Most suburban areas have plenty of bike paths and it is rare to need to venture off into true off-road conditions. The gears are Shimano and it has 21 speeds, more than adequate for most kids.If your child will be likely to go exploring a conventional mountain bike may be better. If not these are light and easy to pedal.

As it is designed for riding on bike paths and roads it does not have suspension forks, a great advantage for riding on bike paths and roads, as the bike is more efficient to ride, lighter and more responsive, especially climbing inclines.
