Giant Areva 225 Street.
The Giant Areva 225 is renamed Giant Areva Street 20.
This bike has a 3 speed internal hub gear system which will provide a cleaner ride that requires a lot less maintenance that a normal externally geared bike would need. Plus! It's very easy to use. Your child changes gears from the front handlebars just the same as any other bike. It also reduces the chance of damages the gears as even if you drop the bike, the gears won't be touched. With the internal gears, you can also change gears while stationary or moving and avoid that horrible "clacking" sounds some other bikes make when you change gears while you're stationary.
The bike has been given the Diamond Shield paint finish which reduces the risk of scratching and chipping so you're bike will still look good when it's time for the next one. The frame is made from aluminium making it light and easy to push. And it's really easy to adjust the head stem and seat pillar when you're child starts on another growth spurt - and with the extra clearance on these, you should be able to last a couple of growth spurts before having to upgrade to a larger bike.The bike as with all others we sell comes fully assembled, and has a full 12 months service period, that means if you did have a problem (unlikely) we will fix it, and you can be sure the bike will be right for at least the next 12 months.You definitely get your money's worth with this little beauty.
The Areva is ideal for smaller girls from 7 years of age. If your daughter is on the tall side for her age, or 8-9 years old the GT Scamp (on sale at $299) or the GT Laguna may be a better choice.
For a less confident girl the Mongoose Popstar NX3 is a nice choice.
