Equipped with a compact crankset as standard equipment, the Giant Defy 2 has the gearing to get most people up and over most of life's little obstacles without the added weight of a triple chainring as is fitted on the Defy 3 and 4. Primarily equipped with Shimano Tiagra components, along with carbon seat post, comfort saddle, gel padded bar tape and clipless pedals, the Defy 2 sits comfortably in the market at a RRP of $1299.

The Sora brakes work well, and the lightweight bars and stem help further reduce the overall weight of the bike. This bike not only looks great, but performs really well.The lightweight frame is designed to sit the rider in a comfortable riding position. This position is more suitable for the average cyclist thanthe more aggressive position of most road bikes. The frame has a slightly shorter top tube with about a 15mm higher handlebar position, which is just enough tosit you in a more relaxed position.The saddle, tyres and bars are set up to suit general road use. With the tendency to cover rough surfaces, interlaced with glass and other puncture causing debris, it is fitted with tough, puncture resistant tyres. Overall this bike will suit most riders entering into road riding. While the bike is quite inexpensive, the performance generally surprises most people.
