Following many years of market leadership with frames like the C50, Extreme Power and EPS, and after 10 years of further development Colnago have created the Colnago C59. As times have changed and further developments in materials and technique have evolved, what we see as perfection now has a new name. The Colnago C59.
The Colnago C59 is designed to reduce rider fatigue enabling us to return after hours in the saddle feeling comfortable and ready for more, and yet is still the ultimate performance bike. To do this, yet be capable of aggressively competing in any race, even events like the Tour de France, handling impossible climbs or diving through hairpins on a high speed descent, takes great engineering and design. I guess that's why there was 10 years of development that went into this bike. Improving on perfection doesn't happen overnight. Ernesto Colnago insists on retaining the lugged frame, which has proven to give superior ride qualities over the cheaper monocoque construction techniques. Another major benefit is the superior fit possible, due to the greater variety of frame sizes available using lugged construction. The new frame has internal ribbing similar to the EPS, which gives great rigidity in cornering, and under powerful acceleration. Complimenting the new frame are the new square chainstays and seatstays which when combined with the rest of the C59 frame package, ensures maximum rider comfort, combined with unsurpassed performance. The straight blade forks are generally regarded as beneficial for performance and handling, but in actual fact they also absorb a greater amount of vibration, so are very beneficial in improving rider comfort.
