Giant Omnium track bike.
In track racing parlance, the Omnium is a series of events of varying speciality. At the conclusion of the series the most consistent rider over the series is declared the winner. It is a requisit of the event that the rider shall use the same bicycle and so the specialist bikes of pursuiters or sprinters are not suitable. At this point, lets consider the Giant Omnium, a track bike built with the various track disciplines in mind. Light weight, stiff, aerodynamic, well equipped and a bike that is considered to be good at everything. A bike fitting of the name Omnium.
A few companies are now producing “off the shelf” track bikes, but most seem to be a compromise, trying to capture the road “fixie/single speed” market as well as track all with the one bike. Giant have opted not to follow suit, but rather be definite in what they are trying to achieve by producing a serious, competition orientated, quality track bike.

Frame Technology
