Bike Helmets

Safety Guidelines

We strongly recommend you should always wear a bike helmet when cycling. It is the law and is just good sense.
For your own safety it is vital to have one that is free of damage and fits correctly.
Do not borrow someone else's helmet unless it is a perfect fit.
We recommend you replace your helmet every 3 years as UV rays deteriorate the integrity of helmets.
If your helmet has been subjected to an impact, even a minor one - replace it immediately.

Bike Helmets

There are five simple steps to making sure your helmet fits correctly:

Measure your head using a measuring tape, or better still, ask for staff assistance.
Check the helmet's size on the information label on the box and match this to your head size.
Try the bike helmet on, place it horizontally and check that it sits low on your forehead, just above your eyebrows.
Each helmet has an adjustable fit system. Adjust this and the straps to improve the fit if neccessary.
Shake your head and check that it does not move.
